The previous article focused on why a specific show should be revived (Accidentally on Purpose in this case), but on this occasion, I thought it would be interesting to shift the focus towards how to motivate companies to revoke their cancellations. If you have a favorite show that has been taken off the air far too soon, keep reading to find out what steps you can take to help bring it back.

First and foremost, you need to establish how far are you willing to take your pursuit. Are you prepared to riot or are you more comfortable with a strongly worded letter? This is important because companies you are up against most certainly have strict policies set in place by their on-call lawyers. If it so happens that you cross their boundaries you have to be prepared to defend your intentions in court. That is of course, the worst-case scenario, but you still ought to be careful. Now that we have settled that, let's go through some of the ways of reviving a cancelled show.

  • Write about it

Probably the easiest way is to write about it online. Use social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to make your voice heard. Tag companies and tell them how you feel. Don't forget to put hashtags, they are your best friends here! Get your friends to tweet, share and post as well. Gather a community of like-minded people to support your efforts. Be specific, and direct about your requests, but avoid being pushy since that could be counterproductive. Emails are a good option, as well. You could write everything you want to say and send them to the company CEOs or other people in power. An example of writing reviving a show would be an instance when the original series of Star Trek was given an additional season after fans organized a letter-writing campaign.

  •           Give them a call

Alright, I'll be the first to admit that this one is a bit radical, especially for us socially anxious Millennials, but it's well worth it! By getting on a call with a CEO, you are saying to them: "I am serious about my intentions. This is something I deeply care about." They are more likely to take you seriously if you make an effort to speak to them directly. Prepare a list of points you wish to make and speak about them confidently; concisely explain why each of them is important.
Be patient and calm, but firm and deliberate. Listen to what they have to say because they know about how the entertainment business is run and will likely suggest the best way to handle the cancellation that is satisfactory for both parties, if they are the cooperative kind of people.

  •          Get creative

This is the perfect opportunity to tap into your talents. If you can sing, make a song; if you can dance, film yourself dancing to a song from the show perhaps and if art is what you do best paint a picture, make a sculpture or do an art performance. Do whatever you can to get their attention! Social media is extremely helpful here as well. You definitely want to share your talents with as many people as possible. Try to reach out to people with a larger following as it will increase your chances of getting your message out there.

  •          Get loud!

What I mean by this is to gather a large group of fans and take your voices to the streets. Make your wishes heard. Personally, I would label this as the "if all else fails" option since it is fairly disruptive and it could rub some people the wrong way. But if you chose to go ahead with this method, you need to make as many decisions beforehand. Pick the location, invite people, make banners, follow the rules and restrictions and be safe. Do not put yourself or other people in danger.

Get in contact with your local television company, radio station, YouTube show or even a podcast and explain your wishes. This is a fool proof way of getting the attention you need since media companies already have preestablished fan bases and connections with the people from the entertainment industry who can help spread the word.

Those were some of the ways you can turn the unfortunate situation to your advantage. However, if none of them work out in your favor, keep your chin up. Remember that there are still plenty of other shows waiting for you to binge-watch them, and there are also reruns. Where would we be without reruns?
