Alternative does not exist (poem)

Well, they left.

And you just let them leave?

They moved thousands of miles away. What could've I done?

What if you never meet another person like that in your whole entire life? Are you seriously telling me that walking away is fine by you?

But what if it fails?

What if it soars?

But what if it breaks?

You aren't hearing me, are you?

The "what ifs" don't  change anything. You either try and fail or fail to try. You give your all because the pain of never having them is far worse than losing them will ever be. You clench your teeth, burry the sting and run like the devil himself is chasing you; you run to find them wherever they are because the alternative does not exist.
